Alpha Phi

Gamma Alpha Chapter SDSU

In February, 1931 the college was moved to a new campus situated on the eastern outskirts of the city. On the campus there were ten local sororities. Phi Kappa Gamma, now Alpha Phi, is the oldest of the nine Greek Letter groups and was founded on February 10, 1924. This was the bright picture painted for Alpha Phi's director of extention, when she visited the campus in 1948. On October 1, 1949, 24 collegiate and nineteen alumni members of Phi Kappa Gamma were initiated into Alpha Phi. Gamma Alpha is the first in the Gamma Dynasty of Alpha Phi.

Alpha Phi Sisterhood
The way we feel about sisterhood
Is impossable to measure:
The experiences of living in sisterhood
Is a great and boundless treasure

It's love and laughter and life itself:
It's a smile and someone who cares:
It's happiness and tenderness
And a thought a sister shares

It's learning the meaning behind that smile
It's finding you can run another mile.
It's walking in a meadow that has no fence
This...is the Alpha Phi experience

Phis having a good time at social events.
Having a good time at the Sigma Chi Exchange.
